BYRON HASKINS
Byron Haskins has over 25 years of experience leading the administration of state and federal public programs and policy teams serving disabled citizens. He served as Director of the Disability Determination Service (DDS) from 2004 to 2009, entering management after many years as a disability examiner, trainer and vocational specialist. Byron led the Michigan Department of Human Services State Disability Programs from 2009 to 2010, leaving to become a disability policy and operations expert for the Social Security Administration Office of Retirement and Disability, in Baltimore, MD from which he retired as Director of Disability Training and Policy Support. Byron has led culture-changing organizational re-engineering and training and has overseen complex multi-disciplinary projects. He brings experience using theoretical concepts of adult human development into organizational change. A member of the American Psychological Association, Byron has a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Michigan (General) and Western Michigan University (Counseling).
